Mrs. Mildred W. Mims, 88 of Honey Grove, Texas passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 at Honey Grove Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00P.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. Mr. Preston Boles of Honey Grove Church of Christ will conduct services. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.

Pallbearers serving will be Tony Serrao, James Hill, Michael McClung, Jimmy Freeman, Mark Ramsey and Randy Whitten. The family will receive friends 3:00P.M. to 4:00P.M. Sat. May 10, 2008 at the funeral home.

Mildred was born August 25, 1919 in Paris TX. to Bailey Lee Nowell and Mary Gertrude Varner Nowell. She married George A. Mims, Jr. July 16, 1938 in Hugo, OK.  She was a member of Honey Grove Church of Christ and for over 30 years was Owner and Operator of several Dry Cleaning Shops in California and Dallas, TX.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Debbie Serrao and husband Tony of Honey Grove, TX. grandson, Clay Allen Dixon of south Texas and wife, Kari of Shady Grove Community in Lamar County, great-grandchildren, Clay Allen Dixon, Jr., Ryan Neil Dixon, Robyn Elizabeth Dixon McClung and Sarah Christine Serrao and several great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George A. Mims, Jr. on May 17, 1997; daughter, Betty Mims Dixon on Oct.7, 2001; plus several sisters and brothers.
