BONHAM -- This Friday and Saturday (May 9 and 10) a rummage sale will be held in the amphitheater at Trades Days to benefit Fannin County Community Ministries, Inc. (FCCM.)  FCCM is the oldest and largest food pantry in Fannin County.  The sale of clean, servicable clothing for all ages, as well as household goods will help buy food to help the needy of Fannin County.

FCCM fed over 230 families just last month.

“We are seeing a steady rise in the number of people seeking help.  For many, it is the first time they have ever had to ask for help,” stated Vicki Hutchins, president of FCCM.  “We are seeing more and more large families, and many multi-generational families.  It’s often very difficult for them to even seek assistance.”

Through the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, FCCM is able to purchase food for 17¢ a pound.  Just one dollar buys five pounds of food.

“Whether people find something to purchase or not, we hope they will consider making a donation to this worthy cause,” stated Hutchins.
