Matt Smith racked up 21 points for the Whitewright Tigers Friday night as they cruised to a 64-29 victory over rivals Tom Bean. This is another crushing loss for the Tomcats, as they are struggling through a tough district season.

The Tigers were on fire from the start, and their fast paced, stylish play was put on show for the crowd. Smith had at least two dunks, and the high-flying junior had a marvelous match. With only a few games remaining, top of the table Whitewright will now be looking forward to the playoffs.

As for Tom Bean, the challenges just keep coming. They are winless in district, and now must face another tough opponent in the form of Gunter. Junior Keton Parrish is finding ways to shine, however, and he led the Cats on points with 10. Now the Tomcats will have to find a good run of form here late and finish the season on a note of pride.
