The University of Arkansas continued to recuit well out of the state of Texas when Gunter RHP Stuart Slakey committed to play baseball for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.

Stuart picked Arkansas over several other Universities like TCU, Arizona State, BYU, Rice, Tulane, Louisiana Lafayette and others. Stuart's performance at the Area Code tryout in Waco and his attendance in Long beach, California at the Area Code games has helped his exposure.

He played summer baseball with the Dallas Dbat team over the summer, which also earned him plenty of recognition. The top schools from across the region were calling, but after visits and thinking it over, it just seemed like Fayetteville was right for him.

Stuart is excited about the fact he is going to play D1 baseball for a quality club like the Razorbacks. And he hopes that in the next three or four years he will be pitching a game in Omaha.
