Dear Band Patrons, our next Big Band Express concert is set for:

Saturday, October 24, 7pm

At the Activity Center of First Baptist, 701 N. Center Street.

Bonham, Texas -- When we started planning for this concert, we didn’t have a concert ‘theme’.  Instead, we selected a short list of tunes that (1) we just wanted to play, and that (2) YOU would like, too.  We since added some, dropped a couple, etc.  And we’re about ready to perform.

After rehearsal this past Monday (Oct. 5), I was going out the door with our drummer, Scott…who’s getting a real workout with this playlist…and the conversation went kind of  like this:

Rich:     What do you think of the charts we’re playing, Scott?

Scott:  Love ‘em! “I’m having a BALL!”

Rich:   So, what do we call this concert in the announcement?

Scott:  (Pause)…How about “Ball in the Fall”?

So, no…this isn’t a dance, but we’re having and ball, and think you will, too.  We have tunes from Sonny and Cher, Neal Diamond, our favorite composer/arranger Sammy Nestico, Sweet Georgia Brown, a 1973 funk tune from Kool and the Gang, and a 1970 #2 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 called “Vehicle”.

This concert will be about 1 hour in length, no intermission.  We do hope to see you there!
