Steaks on Main is a community-wide event designed to promote agriculture in Fannin County through a day-long ribeye cooking competition, dinner, and live music on the Bonham square. The event brings together residents and visitors in the spirit of food, fellowship, and friendly competition. Proceeds from the event support local FFA and 4-H programs.

Bonham Fix & Feed has generously provided the grills and charcoal for the competition. The champion will be awarded a custom championship belt buckle. This new event is expected to highlight young talent and provide an engaging experience for participants and attendees.
The Steaks on Main Ribeye Cook-Off Competition is open to all interested participants. Teams will set up between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM, followed by a cook’s meeting at 9:00 AM. Judging will be based on taste, appearance, tenderness, and doneness.
Teams will be located around the Fannin County Courthouse and are encouraged to prepare appetizers for attendees for the appetizer competition. All teams will also cook steaks for the ticketed ribeye dinner at 6:30 PM.
Winners will receive the following prizes:
1st Place: $2,000 and Champion Belt Buckle
2nd Place: $1,500
3rd Place: $750
4th Place: $500
5th Place: $250
Appetizer Competition
New for 2026, attendees can participate in the inaugural appetizer competition from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. This People’s Choice contest allows the public to sample entries and vote for their favorite appetizer. Teams entered into the Ribeye Cook-off will also be eligible to compete in the appetizer competition at no additional charge. However, you must participate in the Ribeye competition to be eligible.The public is encouraged to come out and vote for their favorite appetizer! Voting tickets will be available for purchase at $1 each, with no limit on the number of votes cast. The team with the most tickets at the end of the competition will receive a TurtleBox, sponsored by Texas Farm Credit. This competition is expected to be a highlight of the event.
Ribeye Dinner
The ribeye dinner will include one Choice or higher-grade ribeye steak prepared by competition teams, served with a baked potato, salad, and trimmings. Seating will be available for all ticket holders.

This year’s event will feature The Bellamy Brothers as the headlining act, with an opening performance by Tanner Legg & the Heaters.
