“The citizens of Johnson County are grateful to the members of the federal jury who served with honor and delivered swift justice after 3 grueling weeks of testimony and deliberation. We believe that the correct verdicts were returned in those cases. We have multiple charges pending against several defendants for additional charges stemming from the same events of July 4, 2025.

"There are also multiple defendants charged and indicted in Johnson County who were not a part of the United States Government’s cases. We are anticipating several more indictments in the ongoing investigation and have
no plans to abandon prosecution on any of the defendants in this matter.

In 1759, Adam Smith wrote in “The Theory of Moral Sentiments” that “Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.” We believe that the citizens of our county, as well as the brave men and women in law enforcement who have been investigating this case, deserve to have the full measure of justice provided in the law. As a matter of duty, we plan to pursue justice on their behalf.”
