PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that a bridge maintenance project in
three counties is slated to begin July 30.

DCC Construction and Services, LLC, was granted 140 working days, weather permitting, to complete this
project valued at more than $1.2 million. The target completion date for this work is Jan. 24, 2025.

This project encompasses three bridges in Delta, Fannin, and Lamar counties.

At each location, the contractor will encase, clean and paint steel beams and pilings, and perform any needed
erosion repairs. Most of this work will be completed off roads and highways, but travelers should take care and
watch closely at these locations for vehicles entering and exiting work areas, officials said.
The contractor plans to set barricades July 29 on FM 78 at Wolf Creek in Fannin County, and begin work July
30. Afterwards the contractor will move to FM 195 at the Six Mile Creek Relief in Lamar County, and then to
State Highway 24 at Doctors Creek in Delta County, officials said.
Motorists who travel frequently in these areas are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic
controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should
also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
