Dallas, Texas -- This June, Galleria Dallas will partner with the Dallas Museum of Art to offer a look at The Impressionist Revolution: From Monet to Matisse, an exhibit currently on display at the museum.

Organized by the Dallas Museum of Art, The Impressionist Revolution reframes one of art history’s best-known movements by highlighting its rebellious origin story and the revolutionary course it charted for modern art. The exhibition, told almost entirely through the DMA’s exceptional holdings, is co-presented by Texas Instruments and PNC Bank.

Shoppers at Galleria Dallas will have the opportunity to learn more about the exhibit on the Gallery Wall, located on Level 1 next to Apple, from May 31-June 30. The Impressionist Revolution exhibit, which runs through Nov. 3 at the DMA, shows how the Impressionists redefined what constituted cutting-edge contemporary art. The unique innovations of core members including Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Berthe Morisot set the foundation against which following generations of avant-garde artists reacted, from Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh to Piet Mondrian and Henri Matisse.

In addition to the Gallery Wall, the DMA’s Community Engagement Team will provide drop-in artmaking activities at Galleria Dallas for kids of all ages during June. The programs will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select Tuesdays in June, on Level 3 near the Children’s Play Place. Dates will be announced on galleriadallas.com/programs/events.

Agustín Arteaga, the DMA’s Eugene McDermott Director, finds outreach such as the Galleria Dallas partnership an important part of the organization’s mission.

“The Gallery Wall at Galleria Dallas helps us to meet our community where they are,” Arteaga said. “We’re pleased to share The Impressionist Revolution with our neighbors.”

“Galleria Dallas has a long history of supporting art and art education,” said Galleria Dallas Director of Marketing Megan Townsend. “We are looking forward to sharing the amazing opportunities available at the Dallas Museum of Art, as well as having DMA staff and volunteers on-site to share experiences with our young visitors.”
