Durant, Oklahoma -- The Honors Program at Southeastern Oklahoma State University celebrated 19 program members who will be graduating in spring and summer of 2024 at its annual banquet on Monday night in the Hallie McKinney Ballroom.
The Honors Program curriculum is a four-year sequence of courses designed to build upon one another to give our students a rounded liberal arts education. Courses layer together to broaden students’ perspectives and advance their critical thinking and communication skills. Honors Program graduates must complete 30 Honors hours.
The Southeastern Honors Program is under the direction of Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch, who presented Honors Program graduates with a certificate and medal to be worn at commencement services. Students who were able to attend the banquet selected a faculty member to present their medals to them at the banquet.
Honors Program graduates and presenting faculty members for 2024 are:
- Ryan Abbud, an aviation-professional pilot major from Oak Hill, Va., medal presented by Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch
- Lesli Armstrong, a liberal and applied studies major from Durant
- Danilynn Brown, an aviation-professional pilot major from McAlester (summer graduate), medal presented by Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch
- Savannah Dombkowski, a communications major from Atoka, medal presented by Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch
- Seth Hill, an aviation-professional pilot major from Greenwood, Ark.
- Andrew Johnson, a finance major from Tom Bean, Texas
- Joshua Kitzrow, a computer science major from Luther, medal presented by Dr. Brett Elliott, professor of mathematics
- Madolyn Martin, a biological health sciences major from DeQueen, Ark.
- Raylee McGlocklin, a fisheries and wildlife sciences major from Milburn, medal presented by Dr. Doug Wood, professor of biological sciences
- Anderson Mikeworth, an aviation-professional pilot major from Arlington, Texas
- Zoey Moody, a psychology major from Sherman, Texas, medal presented by Dr. Meg Cotter-Lynch
- Allen Neisig III, a double major in chemistry and occupational safety and health from Ardmore, medal presented by Skip Robinson, adjunct professor and advisor in the Honors Program
- Joash Patton, a mathematics major from Durant
- Emma Quintana, a biological health sciences major from McAlester, medal presented by Dr. Ning Wu, professor of biological sciences
- Levi Ryan, a mathematics major from Poteau
- James Spencer, an accounting major from Wayne, medal presented by Skip Robinson, adjunct professor and advisor in the Honors Program
