Fort Worth, Texas -- This spring, the Kimbell Art Museum is reminding the community—and inviting new visitors—to enjoy Happy Hour on Friday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00 in the iconic Louis I. Kahn-designed museum. Whether seated indoors or in the courtyard to enjoy “patio weather,” visitors can choose from a selection of beer, wine, and snacks for purchase. Live music by a lineup of Fort Worth-based musicians complements the experience, along with the proximity to the Kimbell’s collection of masterpieces.

The museum is open from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Fridays, and free parking is available in the museum’s underground garage, in the open-air Kimbell east lot, in front of the Kahn Building, and along Van Cliburn Way. Members receive a 10% discount on beverages during Happy Hour. No reservations required. Food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries. The Museum Shop is open during Happy Hour and until the museum closes.

On selected Fridays, the museum presents Kimbell Casual Fridays during Happy Hour, when visitors can enjoy gallery experiences that encourage different ways of looking at art through guided conversation, sketching activities, and the occasional friendly competition.

About The Kimbell Art Museum
The Kimbell Art Museum, owned and operated by the Kimbell Art Foundation, is internationally renowned for both its collections and its architecture. The Kimbell’s collections range in period from antiquity to the twentieth century and include European masterpieces by artists such as Fra Angelico, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Bernini, Velázquez, Monet, Cézanne, Picasso, and Matisse; important collections of Egyptian and classical antiquities; and the art of Asia, Africa, and the Ancient Americas.
The museum’s 1972 building, designed by the American architect Louis I. Kahn, is widely regarded as one of the outstanding architectural achievements of the modern era. A second building, designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, opened in 2013 and now provides space for special exhibitions, dedicated classrooms, and a 289-seat auditorium with excellent acoustics for music.
