Local candidates draw for ballot order

Bonham, Texas -- Mary Hale, Chairman of Precinct 18, welcomed everyone to the Fannin County Republican Ballot Draw on December 21, 2023 at the historic Fannin County Courthouse. She noted that this is the largest ballot draw in recent years.
After drawing for the state and federal races, local candidates drew for what order their name will appear on the ballot in the Republican primary election which will be held in March 2024.
The justice system in Fannin County is set to have several changes in the 2024 elections, as 336th District Judge Lauri Blake, Criminal District Attorney Richard Glaser and Fannin County Sheriff Mark Johnson are not running for re-election. Current Commissioner, Pct 3 Jerry Magness is also not running for re-election.
The Republican Party is planning a candidate forum for Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Multipurpose Complex. The event time has yet to be determined, but will be in the morning.
