Denton County, TX (September 26, 2023) -- Love and dedication were on full display at the Denton County Commissioners Court as Denton County 4-H kicked off its celebration of National 4-H Week. With the theme "I Love 4-H"; this year's festivities promise to be a heartfelt
testament to the profound impact this program has on the lives of young people in our community.
The Denton County Commissioners Court issued a proclamation declaring October 1, 2023, through October 7, 2023, as National 4-H Week in Denton County.

"In the spirit of 'I Love 4-H,' we're not just celebrating a week; we're celebrating a lifetime of growth, leadership, and community," said Steven Baringer, County Extension Agent for 4-H & Youth Development. "National 4-H Week is a reminder that love is at the heart of everything we do in Denton County 4-H – nurturing young minds, fostering lifelong friendships, and planting seeds of positive change in our community."
4-H members are celebrating in their own way throughout the week and will come together on Saturday, October 7 to volunteer as a part of One Day 4-H.
One Day 4-H is held every year in conjunction with National 4-H Week. 4-H members across Texas will be out for this day of service. This year, Denton County 4-H will be volunteering at Shiloh Garden, the largest community garden in America. All the food that is grown at Shiloh Garden is given to hungry families in our local community.
