Honey Grove, Texas -- The Honey Grove Library & Learning Center recently housed an exhibit titled "Becoming the Sweetest Town in Texas". The exhibit focused on the early settlers of the area that later became the city of Honey Grove, and featured photographs and documents describing the area's early families and buildings. Information about landowners, schools, and businesses was included in the exhibit.
This year, the city of Honey Grove celebrates its sesquicentennial. In recognition of this celebration, Barbara Caffee and Myra Rodgers set about gathering information about the early history of Honey Grove. Mrs. Caffee and Mrs. Rodgers, both members of the Honey Grove Preservation League, researched and compiled information, and built the detailed history of the town's beginnings featured in the exhibit.

The "Becoming the Sweetest Town in Texas" was one of the exhibits shown in the Honey Grove Library & Learning Center this year. Currently, the library is the site of "State Fair", an exhibit featuring photographs by Arthur Grace. State Fair is an exhibition by the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at The University of Texas at Austin, presented in partnership with Humanities Texas. Along with Grace's photographs, there is a display of State Fair books and memorabilia.
The "State Fair" exhibit is open to the public during regular library hours through October 21.
