Bonham, Texas -- Reta Downs, 73, of Bonham, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, in Denison. She was born on March 10, 1950, in Denison, Texas, to the late Claude and Vonelle Lowrey.

Reta was always her own person and lived life on her own terms. She had a strong personality and was known for doing things "Her way." Her independent spirit and determination were truly admirable.

Reta is survived by her “Pup” Bella, her loving sons, Rodney Downs and his wife Kristi Downs, and Scott Downs and his wife Keri Downs. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Mackenzie Downs, Dylan Downs, Grayson Downs, and Reagan Downs. Reta is also survived by her sister, Glenda Dederick, her husband John Dederick and 2 sons Joe and Cody. 

Reta was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Vonelle Lowrey.

Per Reta's request, there will not be any memorial services. Her family will honor her memory in their own private way.
