Sherman, Texas -- "Attention all Whos! Attention all Whos!," is shouted by the Mayor of Whoville and his wife as they are trying to get all of the jungle to believe that Horton Hears a Who.
Dr. Seuss is coming to Sherman, TX this July 4th week with Theater For Hope and the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas' musical production of Seussical July 6, 7, 8 at Hope on Houston located at 901 E. Houston Street.
Cat and Jolo
This family musical weaves together 15 of Dr. Seuss' stories and familiar characters like The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, Horton Hatches the Egg, Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!, The Butter Battle Book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, Oh, the Places You'll Go, Hunches in Bunches, I had Trouble in Getting to Solla Sollew, Gertrude McFuzz, Yertle the Turtle, McElligot's Pool, If I Ran the Circus, and The Lorax, all with music, song, and dance as taught by Heidi Scheibmeir vocal director, Leandra Williams choreographer, and Tom Bryson orchestra conductor.
Seussical, the musical is the creation of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, as well as Eric Idle based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Stephen Flaherty composed the music and Lynn Ahrens developed the lyrics. Seussical is being produced by special permission from Music Theatre International and sponsored by Noteworthy Repairs.
Horton and Gertrude
The Art Club Studio run by Shelley Shurtleff and assisted by Tina Ross and Hisae Shaw have created all of the wonderfully bright and colorful costumes for this production. The Art Club Studio is housed along with Theater For Hope and the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas in the Hope on Houston building and they are always looking for and excited when new people become aware of them and get involved.
Theater For Hope and the Children's Chorus of Greater North Texas invite all to come see this musical this weekend either Thursday, Friday or Saturday at 7:00 p.m. or at the 2:00 p,m, matinee on Saturday. Tickets are $12 online or $15 at the door and can be purchased at Theatre 4 Hope.
