In celebration of the 175th anniversary of the City of Bonham, the Fannin County Museum of History has a new exhibit displaying some of the many carpenter tools that the Museum owns.

These tools are from the era when tools were not powered by electricity or batteries, but mostly by manpower.

Carpenters and others took great pride and care of their tools, and there were many tools with very specific purposes.  Many of the tools incorporated beautiful wood.

It has been a challenge for the Museum to understand the purpose of each tool.  For example, we do not know the purpose of this tool.

Tools were ordered from Sears & Roebuck Catalog.

Or purchased at a local hardware store.

Drop by the Museum to enjoy this exhibit and the many other interesting things at the Museum.  The Museum is located just a few blocks south of the Courthouse Square in Bonham on Main Street and is open Tuesday – Saturday, noon – 4:00 p.m.
