Trenton, Texas --  Last week, Trenton High School's Beta Club attended the Statewide Convention at the Gaylord Texan, Grapevine. Beta Clubs compete for Beta Officers, and many other categories. The awards are not determined by school district size, the entire state competes for the coveted awards.  The Beta Club motto is "Let Us Lead by Serving Others".

Trenton High School's Beta Club is the NEW home to State President, Micah Wommack, State Champion Living Lit, State Champion Skit, Robotics and a host of other national qualifiers!

Micah Wommack was sworn in at the conclusion of this year's State Convention, and is now State of Texas President 2023-2024.  He will represent the State of Texas at the National Convention to be held in Kentucky this summer.  Wommack's campaign discussed his nature to lead, be a friend, and anxiety that would have one time prevented him from being on the big stage.  Since the convention, Beta students from across the state have reached out to Wommack, expressing their similar anxiety and how his speech had helped them.

The Living Lit team created an elaborate AVATAR set showcase, and will also represent the State of Texas at the National Convention.

Wommack's skit presentation "My Guy Micah", comprised of over 20 Trenton High School students,  will also represent the State of Texas at the National Convention.

Also, the Trenton Beta Club will be hosting a Pro Wrestling fundraiser next Saturday, February 18, 2023.

The Pro Wrestling fundraiser will be held at the high school gym, as a much needed fundraiser for student travel and lodging for the National Convention.
