Fannin County has some awesome educators who go the extra mile to teach their very fortunate students beyond the basic required curriculum. This year, Feeding Fannin decided, with the help of amazing and generous donors, to assist these kids and their families.

We spoke to nutritionists, teachers, and food management in the county, and decided to pay off as much school lunch debt as we could. We took on additional projects geared toward providing food and helping youth have a merry Christmas. We loved talking and meeting with everyone involved and enjoyed uplifting photos of kids at their parties.

We got to witness a few highlights. Talented students at Fannindel performed Christmas carols, and they held wild and joyous Reindeer Games at LH Rather.
Also, the Life Skills Class at Rather had a super exciting party with loads of gifts and treats. Tracy Hughes, the Family Consumer Science teacher at Rather, received purple kitchen tools and a gift card to outfit her classroom with a few necessities. From Sam Rayburn to Honey Grove and Dodd City, Ector and Savoy, down to Leonard and Fannindel, and back to Bonham, we had an exciting adventure. We were proud to play a part in all this. Now our plan is to return to food distribution and other basics.
From all of us at Feeding Fannin, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a plentiful New Year.
PS – We love our volunteers! You are the best!
