Fannin County, Texas -- The Fannin County Fair Parade will take place again in historic downtown Bonham around the restored 1888 Fannin County Courthouse on October 3, Monday evening, at 6:00 p.m. The theme this year is Cowboy Boots & Country Roots.

There is a float contest again this year with cash prizes (1st place $300, 2nd place $200, 3rd place $100). To be eligible for the float contest cash prizes there is an entry fee ($35 standard entry fee or $15 fee for non-profits).

There will also be a honor award trophy (no entry fee required) presented to the best decorated vehicle (car, truck, or side by side/golf cart entry).

Route: Parade starts at 5th and Main, loops around the courthouse to Center Street, and ends at the corner of 9th Street and Center Street turning west. Theme: Cowboy Boots & Country Roots An entry fee is required to participate in the Parade Float Contest. Those who do not wish to compete may join the parade at no charge, but MUST still submit an entry form. Float Contest Entry Fee: Floats will be judged on adherence to theme, originality, and overall appearance of float. Honor Award Trophy General Rules: Bike riders must be accompanied by an adult.

All and any vehicle must be driven by someone licensed and 21 years of age or older.
For the safety of spectators and yourself all animals must be “parade broke” (that is the animal needs to have been in an event or crowd of people before so it will not get scared and act out – sirens, bands, and other possible loud noises will be in the parade).
Any entry can be expelled from the parade for any actions or outburst. No profanity or nudity may be displayed on the entry (this includes music, writing, signs, participant’s clothing, etc.)
For the safety of children and spectators watching the parade NO ITEMS, CANDY, or FLYERS, can be THROWN FROM MOVING FLOAT or VEHICLE (but can be handed out directly, on foot). Violation will result in DISQUALIFIED from prizes.
NO ENTRY OVER 60 FEET ALLOWED.
Each youth group shall be represented by an adult supervisor who will be responsible for the group following all parade rules. Each group shall name a contact person on the entry form.
When disbanding, units shall NOT block the flow of traffic for participants behind them.
