Durant, OK – Our Community, a free mobile app created to help people get more involved and connected to their local community, is now available for download on iPhone.
The social networking app that focuses on local events was launched in Durant, Sherman, and Denison with the support of community partners across the Texoma region, including Imagine Durant, Donald W. Reynolds Library, Lost Street Brewing, Grayson College, SE Athletics, First United Bank, and many others who now use the app for advertising their events.
By promoting face time over screen time, Our Community removes the time wasters and drama of traditional social media. Instead, it encourages people to get off their phones and find local events that match their interests. Our Community believes “Every community member deserves to feel included and involved.” They plan to make that mission a reality by making it “easier than ever to stay aware of local events and activities.”
