Denison, Texas -- Texoma Medical Center celebrated the Open House/Ribbon Cutting at the new location of its Outpatient Surgery services on Tuesday, April 26. The event took place at Texoma Medical Plaza II located at 5125 Texoma Medical Center Drive in Denison, TX, on the south side of the main TMC campus. After remarks were made and the ribbon was cut outside, tours were conducted of the facility.

According to Ron Seal, Chief Executive Officer at Texoma Medical Center, “We recognized that due to our continued surgical growth and on-going recruitment of specialists to the TMC Healthcare System, that we needed a dedicated facility for surgeries and procedures that don’t require an overnight stay. The opening of our new Outpatient Surgery facility will free up critical surgical space for more complex cases in our existing operating rooms and will allow TMC to better serve the growing healthcare needs of patients living in the Texoma region.”

TMC will transition its Outpatient Surgery services from the main hospital to the new facility on Monday, May 2. The new location features three surgical suites, a gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy room, as well as a pain medicine/procedures room. After their surgical procedure, patients will recover in a 17-bed post-anesthesia care unit. Procedures in the
specialties of ear, nose, and throat; general surgery; neurosurgery; ophthalmology; orthopedics; pain medicine; and urology will be performed at TMC Outpatient Surgery.
