Sprinkler contained the fire damage to one area

McKinney, Texas (March 21, 2022) – The McKinney Fire Department (MFD) responded to a report of a water flow alarm at the Soho Parkway Apartments on Saturday, March 19.

Firefighters arrived to find that a fire sprinkler in the kitchen activated and successfully extinguished the fire – keeping the flames from spreading to the rest of the apartment.

There were no injuries reported and damage was limited to the area around the stove.

Fact: If a home fire occurs, the risk of dying decreases by about 80% when the home is equipped with a fire sprinkler system.
