Sherman, Texas -- Saturday, March 5, the weather promises to be outstanding and Old Iron Post is hosting Dixieland Jazz Fest with music sponsored by Sherman Jazz & More Society (Sherman JAMS). During the Mardi Gras celebration everyone had such a good time with the music by Vieux Carre Messengers, that Old Iron Post wanted to bring more Dixieland Jazz to Downtown Sherman. With the help of Sherman JAMS, it is happening!

Old Iron Post will have live Dixieland all day beginning with James Dering on the piano from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Dering is a talented pianist originally from Sherman. Three River Jazz is a small jazz combo that is well-known at Old Iron Post and throughout the Sherman community. The multi-talented musicians that make up this smaller combo bring a special Dixieland sound whenever they come to play.
In the evening, Vieux Carre Messengers, will bring the party from7 to 10 pm. Lots of talented brass musicians, along with some percussion will play lots of the songs you know and want to sing along and dance to. They are high energy and all those in attendance have a great time when they are in the house.

Throughout the entire day, Old Iron Post will also be serving a taste of NOLA with their fabulous Cajun menu, Abita beer and $6 Hurricanes. Food, drinks and outstanding Dixieland Jazz – you will feel like you are in New Orleans for the day.

As a part of this Downtown event, three businesses will also host music sponsored by Sherman JAMS.
