Fannin County, Texas -- Hundreds of rural Fannin County residents have been without electricity since Wednesday evening, February 2, 2022 as an ice and snow storm made for treacherous driving conditions and temperatures fell well below freezing.

At 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Fannin County Electric Co-op reported 6,500 members without power and informed residents that five contractor crews had been called in to assist local crews with repairs.

Although the message from Fannin County Electric Co-op said it was hopeful that power could be restored sometime Thursday, it warned residents to prepare for another night without electricity as temperatures plummet toward single digits.
