Fannin County, Texas -- All five members of Fannin County Commissioners Court were present for a regular meeting held Tuesday, January 25, 2022. The meeting opened with an invocation by Robert Eades, pastor of United Pentecostal Church in Savoy, Texas, and pledges were led by Shonda Magness and Carolyn Rogers.

A brief update of the ongoing restoration of the 1888 Fannin County Courthouse included:
Exterior
Complete exterior outlets and lighting in sidewalk.
· Install decomposed granite around the building.
· Pour concrete sidewalks to building and mow strip.
· Prep for final concrete pour on south side.
· Start irrigation.
· Prepare to start parking lot demo and stabilization.
Interior
Install millwork trim, casings, and extensions.
· Final finish on wood on 3rd level.
· Stain wood on 2nd level.
· Install Acoustic plaster in courtrooms.
· Install metal curved ceiling panels on 1st and 2nd level.
· Paint air grills to match walls.
· Install remaining plumbing, water heater, ready for final inspection.
· Install outlets on 3rd and remaining lighting.
Received wood flooring for 2nd and 3rd level.

Fannin County Commissioners Court set a Public Hearing on February 8, 2022 at 8:40 a.m. to hear comments regarding an Order Designating Parcel ID #70807, 10.57 acres, as a Reinvestment Zone eligible for tax abatement.
This acreage is close to the power station located near the old jail on CR 4200 south of Bonham.

Commissioners approved minutes from regular meetings on October 5, 2021 and December 28, 2021 (with a correction), as well as minutes from a special meeting January 11, 2022.

Commissioners court discussed the contents of a time capsule at the courthouse that will be opened in 100 years.
Pct. 3 Commissioner Jerry Magness suggested that a photo of commissioners, county judge and other elected officials be included.
Joe Moss suggested that the contents of the time capsule should include recognition of Barbara McCutcheon and other residents who, for more than a decade, spearheaded the restoration effort.
Commissioners will be advised of the suggested contents by February 1, 2022.
The capsule will be buried shortly after the February 1 meeting.

Fannin County Commissioners Court voted to hire a moving company for up to two days to move files from departments to the courthouse at $100 per hour plus truck rental fee.
County employees will also assist.
