Denison, Texas – Grayson College is partnering with Carrus Health on a $414,927 job training grant from the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) Skills Development Fund. Grayson College will provide the job training and administer the grant funding.
GC will deliver 8,530 training hours to Carrus employees to upskill 183 incumbent workers and hire 35 new employees. Ninety-two courses will be offered including Certified Mental Health Technician, Essentials of Critical Care Orientation, Phlebotomy Technician and Fundamental Skills for Registered Nurses among others.

As the ongoing healthcare crisis continues, programs such as these help to reinforce our appreciation and support for our local healthcare heroes.”

The Skills Development Fund provides local customized training opportunities for Texas businesses and workers to increase the skill levels and wages of the Texas workforce. Since 2016, Grayson College has partnered with local businesses to provide more than $8.2 million in skills training in Grayson and Fannin counties with the support of the Skills Development Fund grants.
