Honey Grove ISD teacher/coach arrested for improper relationship between educator and student

Honey Grove, Texas -- On October 26, 2021 the Honey Grove Police Department was notified about a possible improper relationship between a Honey Grove ISD teacher/coach.  Chief Dixon contacted Chief Kevin Verner of the Honey Grove ISD police and informed him of the information received.  An investigation was immediately started by the chiefs.  Contact was made with Honey Grove Superintendent Todd Morrison and the teacher/coach was brought in for questioning.

After some investigating and cooperation by the teacher/coach, the allegations were found to be sustained.  The teacher/coach was suspended by Mr. Morrison pending the outcome of the police investigation.

The investigation revealed that 28-year-old Carley Denee Price, the softball coach and teacher, was sharing very explicit messages and images with a fifteen-year-old male student. 

On November 8, 2021 Price was arrested on the following six warrants obtained by Honey Grove Police Department: Improper relationship between educator and student, Online solicitation of a minor sexual conduct and 4 charges of possession of child pornography.  Price was booked into Fannin County Jail.

At this time there will be no further comment.  The cases will be filed in the coming days to the Fannin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office.
