Dallas, Texas -- The inaugural Dallas Fall Arts Festival, featuring an afternoon of outstanding dance and music performances, debuts on Saturday, October 9 from 1:00 pm–6:00 pm at Klyde Warren Park in the Dallas Arts District. The festival is co–produced by Bruce Wood Dance and The Dallas Conservatory. The rain date for this event is Sunday, October 10.

Bruce Wood Dance executive director Gayle Halperin and The Dallas Conservatory executive director Jacqueline Porter say, “We’re thrilled to host this multicultural celebration, which we hope will be an annual tradition for North Texans for many years to come. We are excited to bring together new audiences and returning friends to enjoy high–caliber performances in a casual, outdoor setting.”

The Dallas Fall Arts Festival delights audiences of all ages with entertainment ranging from jazz and R+B music to African drum and dance, hip hop, classical ballet, Indian dance, folklorico, and more.

1:00 pm

• Bruce Wood Dance presents contemporary dances from the acclaimed WOOD/SHOP series created by company dancers.

• The Dallas Conservatory, six–time winner of the Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding School Award, performs excerpts from the ballet, La Bayadere.

• Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Jazz Combo, a National Endowment for the Arts awardee for the past three years, performs under the direction of Dr. Alex Fraile.

2:00 pm    

• Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico presents excerpts from Wonders of Mexico, highlighting dances from Veracruz, Nuevo Leon, and Jalisco.

• Bruce Wood Dance and The Dallas Conservatory complete the hour.

3:00 pm

• Denise Lee, award–winning “Dallas Diva,” sings R+B favorites.

• Zion Dance Project performs inspirational excerpts from its faith–based repertoire.

• Andy Yu Crew rocks the park with high–energy hip hop.

4:00 pm

• Indique Dance Company performs excerpts from MITRA: Footprints In Our Hearts, featuring the South Indian dance style.

• Bruce Wood Dance and The Dallas Conservatory complete the hour.

5:00 pm   

• B. MOORE DANCE premieres Janet., set to the music of pop icon Janet Jackson.

• Bandan Koro African Drum & Dance Ensemble brings the show to a rousing finale.
