New herbicide for hay pasture weed control
“Forage producers are asking questions and showing a lot of interest in Rezilon, a new herbicide for use in Bermuda and pastures,” said David Graf, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Wichita County.
Graf said the label offers several new features such as extended herbicide residual, no grazing restriction and control of many grasses and broadleaves such as grass bur, groundsel, mare’s tail and crabgrass.

This field day is focused on improving forage for hayfields and pastures, he said. It will be an interactive format so producers and experts can discuss specific weed problems and provide information on fertility and Bermuda decline. They will be able to view test plots and a Bermuda hayfield.
Speakers will include Emi Kimura, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agronomist in Vernon; James Locke, former consultant with Nobel Research Institute, Ardmore, Oklahoma; James Jackson, Alligare range and pasture specialist, Stephenville; and Bayer representatives Billy Campbell and Ronny Courtney.
