Bonham, Texas -- A memorial service will be held for Jerald "Jerry" Lee Eaves of Bonham, Texas on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Bonham.  A visitation will be held at 10:00 before the service at 11:00 a.m.  Jerry passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas due to complications from pneumonia. Jerry was 83 years of age.

Jerry was born in Dallas, Texas on July 18, 1937 to parents Joe and Lura Eaves. He graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, Texas as a member of the Class of 1955. Following high school, he attended college at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1956 where he served as a radioman aboard the LST Polk County and was honorably discharged in 1960.

On December 10, 1960, Jerry married Sondra Ann Green at the Munger Place Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Jerry worked in the industrial shelving and storage system industry for many years before retiring from Western Pacific Storage Systems.

Jerry and Sondra eventually moved from their home in Plano, Texas to Bonham, Texas in 2003 to live in the country. Since moving to Bonham, they have been members of the First Baptist Church of Bonham where Jerry has faithfully served their church family as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.

Jerry is survived by Sondra, his wife of 60 years; son Brian and wife Ethelyn of Ivanhoe, Texas; son Barry and his wife Tiffany of Leonard, Texas; granddaughter Andrea Cory and husband Derek of Telephone, Texas; grandson Trevor Eaves and wife Jennifer of Sherman, Texas; grandson Preston Eaves and wife Elizabeth of Mary Esther, Florida; granddaughter Avery Eaves and grandson Brock Eaves of Leonard, Texas; and great-grandchildren Daniel Cory, Ellie Cory and Presleigh Eaves. Jerry is also survived by his brother Richard Eaves of Houston, Texas and sister Nancy Eaves of Fort Worth, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews.

The deacons of First Baptist Church – Bonham will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Care and Share Ministry Fund at First Baptist Church of Bonham. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, TX.
