Texas Hemp Growers - Advanced Growers Master Class
Lubbock, Texas -- Texas Hemp Growers is coming to Lubbock to teach farmers advanced hemp growing techniques.
Texas Hemp Growers will visit Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, March 13, to teach advanced growing techniques to hemp farmers.
According to data from Texas Department of Agriculture, over 1,400 hemp licenses were issued in 2020, totaling over 5,800 acres and 6 million square feet of greenhouse grow space. At least 300 growers harvested a crop in Texas' first year, with less than 10% failure.
Many growers experienced challenges, such as excessive heat, infestations, and uncontrollable weather.
The six-hour Advanced Grower Master Class builds on what was learned by Texas growers in the first year, and features concepts to help farmers improve their yields.
"Quality education is the key to expanding Texas' share of the hemp industry," said Zachary Maxwell, president of Texas Hemp Growers. "Our new classes build upon the foundation we helped lay earlier in 2020 when we taught beginner classes throughout Texas."
The late start for farmers in 2020 created unintended challenges, such as early flowering plants. Texas Hemp Growers encourages farmers to plan ahead and expect to
plant outdoors by mid-March to early April.
Our limited attendance Master Classes respect current COVID precautions while still allowing growers to visit and learn face-to-face.
This event will take place at Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lubbock Southwest, 6225 62nd St, Lubbock, TX 79424 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
An optional and free Member Mixer will happen from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Teddy Jack's Hub City Grill, 7205 Milwaukee Ave, Lubbock, TX 79424
