Honey Grove, Texas -- The Sam Rayburn Lady Rebels moved to 8-3 in District 14-2A with a 20-point win over the Honey Grove Lady Warriors.

Sam Rayburn controlled the action in the first half, taking a 16-4 lead after the opening period and leading 28-7 at intermission.

The teams traded baskets in the final two periods to give Sam Rayburn a 52-32 victory.

Maddison Cason and Makiyah Johnson both had 10 points to pace the Honey Grove offense, Allie Towery scored seven, Ty'Ciera Battle tossed in three points and Shakira Cooper contributed two points.

Sam Rayburn's Nicholas led all scorers with 17 points, Williams and Cockrill both put up 11 points, Braley knocked down nine points, Keaton had two points, with Connerley and Quinn each hitting a free throw.

The Honey Grove Lady Warriors (5-6) will close out their District 14-2A schedule Friday in Merit against the district-leading Bland Lady Tigers.
