Bonham, Texas -- Bonham Rotary is in its 100th year of service to the community! In celebration of those 100 years of service, our club has decided to sponsor a monthly service project. The November service project was to collect and donate hoodies, blankets, underwear and socks to Bonham ISD to distribute to junior high and high school students in need.

Rotarian Newt Cunningham served as Chair of this service project. Through his efforts, Bonham Rotary was able to work with our local Walmart and their Manager, Faron Long, to obtain hoodies at a reduced cost and other clothing for BISD students.

Another partnership between Bonham Rotary and Mrs. McGovern and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints garnered 21 blankets for the project. Members of the First United Methodist Church donated socks and underwear through an “Undie Sunday” event.
Pastor Dana Coker of the FUMC is also a Rotarian and she coordinated the distribution of the items to BISD school counselors. Many people contributed to the success of this service project lead by Rotarians.
Working together, we can accomplish much!
