Retirement reception for Debra Roberts, Director, Fannin County Community Supervision and Corrections Department

The public is invited to attend the retirement reception recognizing and acknowledging Director Debra Roberts’ 11 ˝ years of service as director of the adult probation department. Ms. Roberts began her career in probation in 1984 in Navarro County as an office manager and became a probation officer in 1997 after graduating from college. In 2004 Debra was promoted to Deputy Director of the Navarro County CSCD. Director Roberts became the Director of the Fannin County CSCD in 2009 after Hal Fowler retired.

During Director Roberts’ decade plus of service in Fannin County, she was active in other organizations making a positive impact in people’s lives. She has served on the Fannin Literacy Council since 2009, to offer GED and Adult Basic Education Programs to the Fannin County residents and promote lifelong learning. Debra was on the team of leaders who worked on the Fannin Re-integration Committee known as Fannin County Fresh Start. This program is designed to assist offenders re-entering our community after incarceration, and their families, through mentoring.

All her years as director, Ms. Roberts served on the Texoma Council of Governments Criminal Justice Advisory Committee which works with Cooke, Fannin, and Grayson Counties in a coordinated effort with the Texas Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, regional law enforcement and the community to develop and maintain a regional Criminal Justice community plan. Director Roberts was also dedicated to and served on the Fannin County Drug Court and the Mental Health Court Teams. Her efforts have impacted our community in a positive and sustained manner. Please come and thank her for what she has done and wish her well on her well-deserved retirement!
