Bonham, Texas -- Only seven days on the job and Troy Hudson is giving updates about his plans for Fannin County as our new Emergency Management Coordinator. Volunteers are the backbone of any Emergency Management plan and Mr. Hudson has scheduled a training for the volunteers on October 15, 2020. If you are interested in being one of these volunteers and join the CERT team, please contact Troy Hudson at 580-980-0574.

Another vital function of an Emergency Management Coordinator is preparedness to respond to any drownings or disaster on the lakes in Fannin County. The North Texas Municipal Water District will fund training through the Sheriff’s Office and assist with paying for cost of equipment necessary for responses to lake emergencies. Mr. Hudson plans to seek grants to improve Fannin County’s readiness to respond to any emergencies in our county. Kiwanians had many questions answered by Mr. Hudson.
