Lola was born in Farmersville, Texas to Willie B Hanner and Hester Kuykendall Hanner on October 4, 1948. Lola married David Fry on June 6, 1964. They made Dodd City their home where they started a family and was blessed with son, Lance and daughter, Julie.

Lola’s passion was working with people. She worked in the community, meeting many people at her early jobs at Bonham Manufacturing and Bonham State Bank. She was very proud of her work later for the VA and United States Postal Service, from where she retired after being postmaster of Randolph and Dodd City, then supervisor in Bonham. After retirement from the postal service, Lola made many friends through her work in real estate with Frontier Properties. Lola’s passion for customer service was evident to all who knew and worked with her. Lola would always go the extra mile for her customers.

Although Lola was proud of all of her accomplishments in her careers, her first goal in life was to lead others to Jesus.  She adored her family and would always make sure her kids and grandkids never went home with an empty stomach. Lola had a smile that would light up a room and could bake the best pies you will ever taste. Nanny and Mimi were her favorite names, as she was affectionately called by her grands and great-grands.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, David, of 56 years, son Lance Fry and wife Casey of Dodd City, daughter Julie Stockton and husband Michael of Dodd City, grandchildren Josh Gaskill and wife Dinorah of San Diego, Braden Fry and wife Kyla of Dodd City, Cailee and Abbie Fry of Dodd City, Triton Copeland of Farmersville, Carrie Kinard of Baton Rouge, Kameryn and Kynlie Kinard of Dodd City, and Creed Stockton of Dodd City. Her great-grandchildren include Colton Gaskill and Preston and Jaxon Fry. Lola is also survived by her sisters Margie Holmsley of Dodd City and Brenda Atnip and husband Ronnie of Bonham, sister-in-law Shirley Horton and husband Frankie of Dodd City, sister-in-law Janet Lusk of Arizona, sister-in-law Jean Lusk of Dallas. She also will be remembered dearly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bill Lusk and Bobby Lusk and sister Ruby Bedwell.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lola’s honor can be made to Fannin County Children’s Center.
