Austin, Texas -- The past six days have seen the six highest one-day totals for new cases of COVID-19 in Texas. The state reported 5,357 new confirmed cases on Sunday, a slight decrease from the record 5,996 cases on June 25. Texas has been averaging 5,640 new cases per day since the surge began June 25.

Harris County had 908 new cases Sunday, down from just over 1,230 cases on Friday and Saturday, but Dallas County is trending the other way with a record 561 new cases Sunday.
Travis County (728 new cases) and Collin County (139 new cases) also set daily records Sunday.
Hunt County had 28 new cases Sunday, Lamar County reported 21 new cases and Grayson County turned in five new cases.
Fannin County hasn't had any confirmed cases since a 15-case surge June 24.

The daily reports from Texas Department of State Health Services to counties have been terminated and the DSHS COVID-19 dashboard no longer reveals the number of confirmed cases currently in hospitals.
"DSHS is no longer providing Fannin County with detailed information," notes Fannin County Judge Randy Moore. "What the graphs on the DSHS website tell me is that we in Texas are not out of the woods yet when it comes to COVID 19. I am tired of talking about it like everyone else. We just cannot forget about it until there is some semblance of control. I appreciate everyone’s patience and doing their best to prevent this from spreading. Keep up the good work. Encourage those around you to do their best also."
