Savoy, Texas -- A decedent of the Gorrell family, who originally sold the land for the Savoy Sunnyside Cemetery, donated a Winchester Model 94 Carbine Legendary Frontiersmen Rifle to the Cemetery for a fundraiser.  The gun has never been fired and is still in the original box.

There has been a tremendous  response to this and 250 tickets have been sold for the gun. The drawing will be Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Savoy Fire Department. Our own Shep Maxwell, three-year-old son of County Agent Cody Maxwell and wife Logan, will do the honors of the drawing.

Anyone is invited to attend the drawing and it will be videoed.   Legal paperwork will be completed before the Rifle is turned over to the winner.

All proceeds go to the Sunnyside Cemetery. Any questions call 903-271-2071.
