Sulphur Bluff, Texas -- On day two at the 2019 Cap Herman Basketball Tournament in Sulphur Bluff, the Ector Lady Eagles dropped a nine-point decision to Celeste, but bounced back into the win column with a 21-point victory over CHESS.
Celeste got off to a fast start and held the lead for a 42-33 win.
Elsie Hooten led Ector with 11 points, Mollie Hooten knocked down nine points, Riley Evans scored seven, Jordyn Blakey finished with four points and Meredith Shockley pitched in two points.
In the second game Friday, it was Ector with an early lead over CHESS and the Lady Eagles continued to pull away for a 51-30 victory.
Riley Evans scored 16 to lead three Ector players in double figures. Elsie Hooten had 11 points and Chelsi Petty put up 10 points. Carly Jones scored six, Mollie Hooten finished with four points, while Allie Mackey and Jordyn Blakey tossed in two points apiece.
