Van Alstyne, Texas -- The Sister Grove Chapter National Daughters of American Revolution will conduct a Wreath Laying Remembrance Ceremony at Van Alstyne Cemetery, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.

There are 691 veteran hero graves here including 20 active members who have died in the service of their country. The earliest veteran is Collin McKinney, Veteran of War of 1812 and Signer of Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836, along with veterans of all wars since.

Those in attendance will be able to place a wreath on a veteran's grave that has been marked with an American flag.  This will be a true way to pay tribute to those who have served to make this a great and powerful nation.  The event is free and open to the community.
