Paris, Texas -- Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that two public meetings are set for early December to gather public input on proposed safety and mobility solutions for US 82 west of Sherman, Texas, from FM 1417 to the Grayson-Cooke County line.

The meetings are slated for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at two separate locations: Dec. 4 at the Dillingham Intermediate School Cafeteria (1701 Gallagher Drive) in Sherman, and Dec. 5 at the S&S Consolidated Middle School Cafeteria (200 Ram Avenue) in Sadler, Texas. Both meetings will follow an open house format, so those who attend can come and go at their convenience.

Study data and maps showing proposed roadway options will be available for viewing, and TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions about the improvements proposed for this stretch of roadway.

The proposed solutions for this roadway are designed to enhance traffic and freight safety; decrease the likelihood of crashes; and improve intersection and interchange safety, mobility and operations.

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be conducted in English, but requests can be made for an interpreter or other special communication accommodations. If additional assistance is required please call (903) 892-6529 no later than Dec. 1, 2019 to request assistance. Advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time to arrange, TxDOT officials said.

Comments about this project will be accepted at the meetings, online or by mail. Comments must be received by Dec. 20, 2019, in order to be part of the official record. Notices about these public meetings are online at:
