Grant provides 287 ‘Stop the Bleed’ kits to the McKinney Fire Department

McKinney, Texas -- The McKinney Fire Department (MFD) was selected to receive a grant award of almost $20,000 from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to purchase 287 Stop the Bleed kits.

They will be strategically located in city facilities along with automated external defibrillator (AED) devices. The kits to stop serious bleeding injuries will also be passed out to businesses and churches that take part in MFD’s Ready to React training.

The Stop the Bleed kits are an important part of the McKinney Fire Department’s Ready to React program that offers training in Stop the Bleed and Hands-Only CPR in a free one-hour class.
