Bonham, Texas -- The sign on the gym wall said, "Get your popcorn, because we're putting on a show" and fans of both teams certainly got their money's worth Friday as the Bonham Lady Warriors took over sole possession of second place in District 10-3A with a very competitive 3-1 win over the Bells Lady Panthers.

In the first set, Bells collected five kills by Isabella Smith and four kills by Gabby Smith, but Bonham countered with five kills by Averi Reeves, three kills by Alli Kirkpatrick, a pair of kills by Lily Wilson and a kill by Raegan Shackelford as the Lady Warriors posted a 25-20 win.

Bonham jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second set only to watch Bells rally for a 25-21 victory to tie the match.

Reeves and Kirkpatrick combined for nine kills in the third set to lift the Lady Warriors to a 25-22 win and Reeves slammed down seven kills in the fourth set to lead Bonham to a 25-21 victory.

Averi Reeves led all hitters with 23 kills, Alli Kirkpatrick finished with 14 kills, Raegan Shackelford put down six kills, Lily Wilson finished with five kills and Joli Kirkpatrick contributed four kills.

Isabella Smith and Gabby Smith both had 14 kills for Bells.

The Bonham Lady Warriors (5-1) will travel to Leonard on Tuesday, October 8 and Bells (4-2) will travel to Howe.
