McKinney, Texas -- Hosted by Historic Downtown McKinney and Davis at The Square, Music on the Lawn presents multi-ethnic Latin pop songstress, Gina Chavez in a free concert slated for Friday, September 13, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Bring your family, friends, a lawn chair or lawn blanket to Davis at The Square Lawn, located at 260 Davis Street in McKinney, Texas 75069, and enjoy live music by Gina Chavez on a beautiful evening in historic downtown McKinney!

A food truck and Frios Gourmet Pops - McKinney will be on site. Cash and card is accepted.

A multi-ethnic Latin pop songstress, Gina Chavez is a 12-time Austin Music Award winner. Her bilingual record, Up.Rooted, topped both the Amazon and Latin iTunes charts following a feature on NPR's All Things Considered. Her NPR Tiny Desk concert has nearly 1 million views and her band has toured 12 countries as cultural ambassadors with the U.S. State Department.

Chavez’s passionate collection of bilingual songs take audiences on a journey through the Americas, blending the sounds and rhythms of the region with tension and grace. Her Spanish-language anthem, “Siete-D” (Grand Prize winner of the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting Contest) recounts her experience volunteering in a gang-dominated suburb of San Salvador where she is a co-founder of The Niñas Arriba College Fund for young Latinas.
