Bonham, Texas -- The clouds rolled out and the crowd rolled into historic downtown Bonham on Saturday, May 4, 2019 as one of the oldest towns in Texas kicked up its heels to celebrate the 13th Annual Heritage Day Festival.

This event has earned a reputation as a family-friendly, regional spring ritual.  Although a soggy track forced the Lone Star Garden Tractor Pulling Association to postpone the popular tractor pull, Daniel Weeks put on another spectacular freestyle motocross performance and the equally impressive Car & Truck Show was another crowd favorite.

Three new events made this year's Heritage Day Festival particularly memorable. The Dog Show attracted a large audience, the $500 prize for the Cornhole Contest created lots of competition and the inaugural Heritage Day Parade was a perfect way to wrap up events as the live music got underway.

Daniel Weeks thrilled the crowd with a series of daring motocross jumps. Bonham Chrysler sponsors this event.

Thanks to Bonham Chrysler, Burton Gilliam of Blazing Saddles fame was available for photos with fans and autographs.

Bonham Chrysler also had Fiat 124 convertibles available for the crowd to check out.

Bob Self and his buddy await their turn during the Dog Show.

Alice Porter's entry was one of the top winners in the Dog Show.

Dog Show announcer Cindy Baker Burnett takes a close look at this four-legged entry just before it bolted off through the crowd!

An interesting variety of model trains were circling the tracks down at the depot.

Bonham Police provided security for the event.
