Fannin County, Texas -- The National Resource Conservation Service and Fannin County Agrilife Extension Service held a brush control seminar at the Lake Fannin Lodge. Approximately eighty people attended this seminar. There were three speakers dealing with different topics.
Ricky Linex, NRCS Wildlife Biologist, presented common woody species of Fannin County.

James Jackson, Program Specialist for Ecosystem Management, discussed hard to control grasses and weeds.

Dr. Chad Cummings, Integrated Field Scientist with Corteva Agriscience, explained how pasture management affects weed/brush control, forage availability, and profitability.

Then the group toured an area that J bar C Services, LLC had cleared on the Lake Fannin property. Johnny Horton gave a brief explanation of the equipment and the services they performed.
The group enjoyed lunch after the programs and tour. Thanks to the NRCS and Agrilife groups for putting on this program.
