Denison, Texas -- The Ruiz 4 Kids Mini Grants for Teachers have been awarded and local teacher Nathan Melson from Dodd City High School was awarded $988 for his project "Edison Robots for Elementary STEM."
“Our entire student body will benefit by the creativity and problem solving that comes through coding and robotics,” said Melson. “Problem solving, teamwork, leadership and creativity are skills most requested in the current job market. Coding and Robotics are one more way we, at Dodd City, may ensure that our students are prepared,” he added.
“We were excited to learn about the robotics program Dodd City School formed in the 2017-2018 school year and how well they performed in competition as a new group,” said Ruiz 4 Kids Board Member, Jeanne Ulcak.“To see that not only will their students benefit in a classroom setting from this program but that it would also allow them to create a robotics club, it was easy to place our support with grant funding ensuring continued success,” she added.
