Rockwall -- Melissa traveled to Rockwall tonight to play Quinlan in the Region II-4A Quarterfinal match. The Lady Cardinals won in 3 sets: 25-11, 25-20 & 25-15. Melissa's record improves to 33-7. The team was led by Riley Duzenack with 9 aces, Connar Newberry with 12 kills, Kennedy Shelstead with 8 kills, and Amanda Kocsis with 6 digs and several perfect passes.

The girls proceed to a Region II-4A Semifinal match that will be on Friday against Longview Spring Hill. The match will be at Mesquite Poteet High School in Mesquite, Texas, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Seven years ago the Melissa volleyball program made it to the regional semifinal game in 2A, but this is the first appearance in 4A! We really appreciate all the fans that made it to the game tonight and hope to see all of you there again on Friday while we make history!
