Arrest - June 6, 800 Block W. 14th St. Arresting Officer Cpl. Cory Brookshire. A call for service was received in reference to a welfare concern for a child. Upon arrival officers met with the child's father who advised his daughter was left unattended in the house by his ex-wife. The child’s father advised that the child was left alone in the house while the mother went to a different residence with friends. The father stated he no longer resided at that address and did not have a key to gain access to the residence. The father gave officers the address of where the mother could be located. Another officer was sent to locate the mother and bring her back to the residence. The child’s mother was identified as Kelsey Ray. Upon Ray’s arrival, she advised her daughter was asleep in her room and she only left for a minute. The officers advised her of the time when the call came in and the length of time they had already been at the residence. Ray then advised she tried to get someone to watch her daughter but no one would. Ray was advised she was under arrest and charged with Abandon/Endanger Child With Intent To Return.
Arrest - June 8, 1700 Block SH 121 N. Arresting Officers Cpl. Joe Gentry and Ptl. Luke Rattan. While in the parking lot, officers observed a male subject exit a vehicle and walk to the rear of the vehicle. The male subject then began urinating in the parking lot behind the vehicle. As officers approached the vehicle, the male subject reentered the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Once the subject entered the vehicle, officers observed him place a clear baggy containing a green leafy substance under his seat. Officers observed three male subjects occupied the vehicle. The front passenger was asked to exit the vehicle. Once outside, the subject was asked what he placed under his seat. The subject admitted to placing his baggy of marijuana under the seat. The male subject was identified as Kyle Charles. While officers were speaking to Charles, they could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Charles swayed while standing and spoke with a thick tongue. The other occupants of the vehicle were identified as Cedric Beavers and Tousasenta Walker. Officers then located two additional subjects inside the store that was with the vehicle. The male subject was identified as Byron Davis. The female subject stated she did not have her ID on her and identified herself. All subjects appeared to be intoxicated. All subjects were given the portable breath test and had a BAC over the legal limit. Dispatch then ran all subjects to check for warrants. Dispatch advised officers that the female name and date of birth was not showing any results for a driver’s license or ID card. The female subject was again asked for her name and date of birth as she had advised the officers she did have a license. The female subject hesitated then gave her name and date of birth again and stated her license was out of California. The information was run again checking for a CA DL and again no results were found. The female was finally identified as LaShanda Pollock. Pollock was advised she was under arrest for Public Intoxication, Fail To ID-Give False Info and Consume Alcohol in Prohibited Place. Beavers, Davis and Walker were all placed under arrest for Public Intoxication. Charles was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana < 2 oz Drug Free Zone and Disorderly Conduct-Expose Genitals.
Burg of Habitation - June 9, 700 Block FM 87 N. Reporting Officer Cpl. Joe Gentry. A call for service was received in reference to a burglary of a habitation. Upon arrival officers met with the victim, who stated that person(s) unknown had entered her residence without her permission. The victim stated she had not been staying at the residence recently but had returned today. The victim advised when she left the residence last everything was ok and nothing was missing. Upon entering the residence today, the victim found that her T.V, suitcases and a chair had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. Investigation continuing.
